The lockdown measures and disruption that the coronavirus pandemic will have caused many people to be suffering with mental health problems. However funding for mental health charities such as Bath Mind has been dramatically cut, with a lack of fundraising events taking place. It is more important than ever to support these essential services in order for them to support the wellbeing of those that need it. I decided to set a challenge to climb Mount Everest over the month of may as dealing with mental health challenges can feel like a mountain to climb. Keeping active through exercise can have massive benefits in supporting your wellbeing and preventing certain mental health issues. You can keep up to date with how the challenge is going by visiting my instagram profile: https://www.instagram.com/mileslloyd98/ Let me know if you do any challenges of your own!
A Message from Bath Mind:
With the UK now facing unprecedented isolation measures and historical restrictions to life, Bath Mind believes that we need to consider more than ever the mental health and wellbeing of our community. For many with existing mental health problems this is a particularly stressful and challenging time, therefore Bath Mind's mental health support services are therefore more critical then ever, and a life line for so many in our community.Bath Mind supports the essential mental health and wellbeing needs of hundreds of people across B&NES. We have adapted these services to include remote support and care wherever possible, however we urgently need funds to enable us to meet the increasing demand for mental health support in B&NES, and help support the strain placed on our services by COVID-19 measures.
