We deliver water safety education to prevent drowning and save lives

Story

This page was set up last year but is still open for donations.  Rachael Storey, an amazing young lady, is running the York Marathon again in memory of Meg. Anything raised will go towards resources for the Don't Drink and Drown campaign running from now until January 2017 in universities across the UK.

On 23rd January 2014 Megan, who was a Fine Art student at York St John's university, tragically lost her life in the river Ouse. A combination of alcohol and accidentally taking the wrong route on the way home from a student night out led to her falling into the river from some poorly lit steps at the foot of Lendal Bridge. It was almost six weeks before she was found, several miles downstream; six torturous weeks for her family and friends.

So that this beautiful soul didn't lose her life in vain, her memory has been kept alive and honoured as part of awareness raising, drowning prevention work. All funds raised will go towards the RLSS  Don't Drink and Drown campaign aimed at keeping young people (especially students) safe
