In memory of Maria Bitner-Glindzicz
We need everyone to race for the kids. Run, jog, walk or wheel our 5k family fun run and give seriously ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital the chance of a better future.

Story

We are brothers Miles (5) and Felix (2). We are doing Race for the Kids in order to raise money to help very ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital. We are running / walking in memory of our Aunt / "Bunny" Maria Bitner-Glindzicz.

Maria was a Doctor and Professor at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She passed away in September 2018 after an accident on her bike. We would like to raise some money in order to honour her legacy and raise awareness of some important causes.

Maria cared for children and their families suffering from genetic diseases (she had a particular focus on Norrie Disease and Usher Syndrome). Her focus was on treating and finding cures for children with hearing and sight loss. She helped to set up the Norrie Disease Foundation, she was a leader in the 100,000 Genomes Project and was in the process of carrying out research that she hoped would one day restore vision.

We hope that we can raise money in order to make a difference in the lives of young children at Great Ormond Street hospital, from buying new hospital equipment, funding further research, providing support to affected families, and everything in between. Thank you very much for your kind donations!
