Story

Thanks you for visiting my JustGiving page.

For my last year of 30s, I made a pretty big decision – Now I have decided to raise money for Alzheimer's Society and I'd really appreciate your support. As a few of you may know, my mother Kazue have diagnosed Juvenile Alzheimer's disease in 2011 when she was just 62.

For those who have never met my mum, she was super cheerful, fun, caring, beautiful and she was always in the centre of the family. Since we have found her disease, we confused, suffered and horrified how quickly the disease changed her and taken her personality. Over the past 4 years she has suffered badly from dementia and it was heavily affected to my dad and the rest of family.
Despite of my dad’s dedicated support, sadly my mum fell down from the upstairs, broke her heel and became a wheelchair. She is now in a residential home and cared by professional 24/7.

I – as a daughter, I always struggling the feelings – I could do more for her and I should be there for her. I am living in the UK and my mum is in Japan, and I might be an undutiful daughter for her. But if I can do something for the people who is fighting against Alzheimer’s, the people who is struggling to care for your loved one, my mum might be a little bit proud of me.

1 in 3 people will end up with some form of dementia - so together let's try and raise money to prevent this from being our future.

Thank you for reading this, appreciate your kindness.
