Story
Hi everyone - Thank you for considering sponsoring me in running the Robin Hood Half Marathon 2015 for Multiple Sclerosis Society on the 27th of September 2015 (this Sunday).
When I was 8 years old my mum was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Although you can't always see how this has impacted her life, it has had a significant impact on her daily functioning and as such altered simple activities. MS is an auto-immune disease which affects neurological condition of the brain and spinal cord, resulting in damage to vision, balance, and muscle control. Loss of sensation, numbness and fatigue are also common side affects. 50% of people diagnosed require assistance walking or need a wheelchair within 15 years of diagnosis.
There is no known cure for multiple sclerosis - but treatment to improve function and prevent future attacks have drastically improved over recent years thanks partly to the work and research pioneered by the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Please help me in finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis and beating MS for good!
ThanksMike
