Story
In October 2020 Mike took on his biggest sponsored challenge. It wasn’t a Marathon, Ironman or Basecamp trek, instead his ‘Everest’ was a 10km walk.
Fighting his brain tumour and the residual effects of cancer treatment, Mike determinedly trudged over 10km of countryside refusing to give up despite exhaustion, high winds and downpours.
Displaying his charismatic good humour, grit and drive to put others first, Mike completed the 10km in 3 hours 25 minutes raising an incredible amount for the brain tumour charity. His wish for the money was to help support those with brain tumours and prevent brain tumours for future generations.
This would be Mike’s last sponsored walk, although he walks alongside us, in our hearts, every single day.
That’s why this March we’ll be continuing his work completing the 10k Brain Tumour Charity Twilight Walk in memory of Mike.
And we’d love for you to join us as a walker or sponsor. Together let’s beat brain tumours.
