Story
It's done, the ride is complete, but it doesn't mean that you have to stop giving. The journey through Vietnam and Cambodia was full of contrast, both in terms of people and buildings.
The cycle ride was long, very hot and very painful in places you can only wish to imagine, but full of many little adventures with which I could bore you for hours.
I thank all of you that have already contributed and those still to contribute. I thank all of you that got your friends and families to sponsor me and also the Hilton in the Community Foundation and employees of Hilton hotels.
But why am I raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust?
Well as soon as I heard about the Teenage Cancer Trust, I knew that I wanted to support help them. To help them achieve their goals, I have set myself a personal target of raising at least £3,500.
The charity focuses on the needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer, leukaemia, Hodgkin’s and related diseases by providing specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals. To date, Teenage Cancer Trust has built 8 units across the . Units are costing over £1 million each to build and the Teenage Cancer Trust must complete at least 20 units, this will enable every teenager and young adult with cancer in the to have access to these facilities. It is anticipated that the concentration of medical expertise within these units can improve chances of recovery by 15%.
PS: I have decided to personally cover the FULL costs of the expedition, including the flight, accommodation and food (yes I'm planning to eat!), plus a £100 donation to the Teenage Cancer Trust. This means that every penny YOU donate will go directly to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Teenage Cancer Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
