Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Well, yes, I decided to challenge myself and see if I could actually run a marathon.  I had lots of advice which in the main can be summarised by, you are mad or make sure you do a flat one!   The Brathay Windermere Marathon is classified as 'undulating' which from someone who trains in Lincolnshire translates to 'mountainous'.  However Lake Windermere is Britain's largest lake (26.2 miles around the perimeter) set within some of the most beautiful countryside in England (if it doesn't rain!).

I will be running this marathon on the 17th May (not long to go) and have been training for the event with an average of 30 running miles per week for about 4 months

The organisers of the event ask each competitor to raise what they can for their charity which is explained on this page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Brathay Hall Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please give if you can or just have a laugh at my photo!
