We did it! We completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks on August 7th in just under 12 hours. It was tough going, made even tougher with all the wind and rain, but everyone's support really kept us motivated. Unfortunately because of the weather my dad wasn't able to come and meet us at the finish line, but he was incredibly proud and waiting for us with the rest of the family with celebratory drinks. We are so grateful to everyone for donating - your contributions will make a big difference to those living with MND, and your support and kind words have really kept us all going during this difficult time. 

***Our original fundraising target was £850 which we have managed to reach. We have been blown away by the support and want to raise as much money as possible for this great cause.

We are raising money for my wonderful Dad who was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Joe, Kim, Tom and I will be taking part in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on August 7th.

MND is a rare disease that affects the nerves (motor neurones) in the brain and spinal cord that tell your muscles what to do. With MND, messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles. It can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe and it affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time.

MND is a rapidly progressing disease that currently has no cure and very few treatment options. The diagnosis has been devastating for us as it is for all those affected by the disease.  

The MND Association offers essential support for those suffering with MND and their families, along with funding vital research into the disease. We are taking part in this challenge in the hope that we can help get a little closer to finding a cure. My Dad has always loved the Yorkshire Dales, as well as being the keenest Geographer around, so this felt like a fitting challenge to take on in his honour.
