On Saturday 8 May the Queen's Guide, Cedric Robinson, will lead RNLI supporters on the famous Cross Bay Walk across the beautiful sands of . Whilst this may not be the most challenging of challenges, with the expert guidance of Cedric to ensure a safe crossing, is notoriously dangerous, with fast rising tides and quicksands. 

Cedric Robinson is known as the Queen's sandpilot in , and has been leading walkers across the sands for 25 years. He said the area was treacherous for people who did not have local knowledge of the tides 

More importantly, you may recall this is the area where the cockling disaster occurred one evening in 2004 and sadly many Chinese workers lost their life. If it were not for the efforts of the RNLI volunteers then many more life’s could have been lost. This is just one example of the great work that the RNLI undertake so please dig deep and donate now.
