Both my parents have had Alzheimer's with mum still fighting this cruel disease. For those who know me know that for many years I have participated in crazy endurance events including Ironman races, extreme triathlons and Ultras. For me this is a way of creating memories and as I know well enough - memories matter. By pushing my own limits I have created a lifetime of amazing memories and shared them along the way with an inspirational group of friends and family.

My latest challenge is by far the hardest thing that I have done to date and in many respects is the most relevant to my commitment to raise the profile of Alzheimer's.  During the last weekend of April I am participating in the inaugural Pembrokeshire Coast 100 - a hundred mile, non-stop run from Dale to Cardigan around the Pembrokeshire Coast Path national trail. I start at 8am on Saturday morning and have until 8pm on the Sunday evening to finish. With over 20,000ft of climbing throughout the course and only 3 major aid stations the challenge will not be how fast I can finish but whether I can actually make it to the finish line. The challenge goes beyond the physical and becomes more about challenging me mentally to just keep going.
