I am proud to be part of the Mansell team delivering the St Andrew project to convert a existing 18 storey tower in the heart of Glasgow into a hotel.

In a moment of madness I suggested that we sponsor a charity abseil event to celebrate a key stage in the project.

And on 18th June 2011 we plan to do just that to mark the completion of the critical removal of the original pre cast concrete facade of the building.

We have elected to support Maggie's Cancer Caring Trust that was founded in 1995 by Maggie Keswick Jenks to provide support for people who are affected by cancer either through direct diagnosis or to families, carers and friends of someone who has.

Maggie's has challenged our industry to provide unique comforting environments that offer homely and inspiring settings where their services and support can be shared in a warm and vibrant atmosphere.

Maggie’s relies on donations to provide support to people affected by cancer across 10 regions of the UK with more centres planned. For more information please log onto www.maggiescentres.org.
