Story

This year I'm participating in my 6th Great North Run and am finally hoping to beat the magic 100 minute mark, and in doing so I'd need to knock over 7 minutes off last year's best effort of 1 hour 46 minutes, 45 seconds. A tough ask, but it can be done!

The Great North Run is one of the most popular half-marathons around but is also widely acknowledged as being one of the toughest, with the long uphill stretches enough to test the will, ability and stamina of particpants.

I will be looking to raise as much money as possible for Retrak a relatively small charity who work to help street children in Africa to realise their potential and have a better life. A very good friend of mine has worked for them in the past and has made me aware of the great work that is being done to help with this ongoing programme of work in a particularly disadvantaged part of the world.

Any donations will be gratefully received and will make a real difference to the lives of these children.

Please give what you can - even its only a pound or two - which all adds up and will keep me going when I'm training hard over the coming weeks.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
