Event: Wheels on the Western Front – Ride to Arnhem, on 9 September 2022
In memory of Bill Scott
WOTWF2022
Campaign by Army Benevolent Fund (RCN 1146420 & SC039189)
The route will cover the battles of the US 82nd and 101st Airborne Division landings at Eindhoven and Nijmegen and the British 1st Airborne Division at Arnhem which saw action in September 1944 after the Battle for Normandy.

Story

I'm raising money for ABF The Soldiers' Charity who provide vital support to soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need. For Soldiers. For Life.

My father-in-law, Bill Scott, not only was evacuated from Dunkirk but went back as part of the Normandy Landings and the subsequent push inland.

My own dad was a PoW with the Japanese - and that is a bit further away to do a chairty event!

Those of you who have watched "A Bridge Too Far" will know the story of the move from Normandy to Arnhem.

This cycle route [at least 331 miles] follows this route to raise money for the Army's National Charity.

By September I shall be 65! So go on ... Support an old fool!

Please note that I will meet ALL costs of the trip [transport, accommodation, food, vaseline, ligament oil, beer, deep heat, etc etc]

EVERY SINGLE PENNY you are kind enough to donate will go to charity.

Many of you kindly supported my fund-raising for the charity work I did in Nepal a couple of years ago.

I would really feel humbled and appreciative if you could see yourself able to support me again.
