Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the last bank holiday of May, I shall be joining a team of 14 others to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
The Peaks are:
· Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)
· Scafell Pike, in England (978m)
· Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344m)
As well as having less than five hours to climb each mountain the National Three Peaks Challenge driving route also takes in around 800 kilometres (500 miles) of driving between mountains.
Why do it?
Well quite simply we are seeking to raise money for Edukid
www.edukid.org.uk
Edukids vision is of a world free from the effects of war and poverty, where each child can have hope, and opportunities to fulfil their dreams.
It believes children from communities ravaged by war
can emerge with skills and tools that better equip them to be self-sufficient.
It hopes to widen awareness of this, and provide a means by which concerned people can become actively involved.
What Edukid does:
It provides vocational training, school and university scholarships, and schools packs for children affected by war and poverty.
In particular it encompasses the following groups:
· Former abductees
· Former child soldiers
· Orphans
· Child led families
· Those with disabilities or HIV/AIDS
· Those unable to support themselves or their families as a result of war
It provides a route by which concerned people can support a child through their education.
