Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m raising money for Parkinsons UK in a typically wacky way.
Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects 150,000 people at any one time in the UK. It doesn’t discriminate, and severely limits the lives of an estimated one in 350 adults.
Whilst not fatal in itself, it can become a severely debilitating condition that contributes to about 27,000 deaths each year in the UK and Ireland alone, including my late father-in-law, Louis Finn.
Parkinsons UK supports research into treatments for the condition and, eventually, a cure, but this requires the support from thousands of ordinary people.
As one of these ordinary people, the challenge I’ve set myself is to walk the 179 mile Roman road from Exeter to London, in Roman legionary armour and equipment (weighing 40kg), by the end of July.
I hope to raise some £5,000 along the way; any amount you can pledge will make a real difference.
