Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I really appreciate it. So does the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh and so does Penny!
Penny is my great-niece and was born with two club feet. She has been under the care of a fabulous team of surgeons, doctors, nurses and her wonderful physio, Sarah Patterson, since birth. She had an operation to cut both her Achilles tendons and then her legs were put in casts. The whole treatment takes between 4 and 5 years but at 14 months she is making great progress. Without the treatment she would never really be able to walk. (By the way - to see Penny click on 'View Gallery' which appears on the map.)
Most of us take walking for granted. I love walking which is just as well as I shall be walking over 200kms to raise money so that other children, like Penny, can benefit from the great care that she has received.
My walk will take up to a week depending mainly upon the weather. Lock down means no hotels and no campsites so I shall be sleeping rough along the way.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Thank you very much for your support. Mike & Penny
