My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Update!
I'm competing in the World Triathlon Championships on September 12th and running London on October 3rd.
Background
I lost my sister Claire to cancer in 2016, shortly after losing my brother Robert in a road accident. We were always close and if anything grew even closer in adulthood. They were my only siblings and I loved them very much.
Their combined loss threatened to kill me as well. I didn't cope at all well with the pain and seeing mum's grief was shattering, as was witnessing the devastation for the six children left behind.
I was a truly lost soul unable to make sense of any of it.
Road To Recovery
Now, thank God, I run in their memory and no longer drink to their memory. I've been turning things around, one day at a time, run by run.
This year swim by swim, cycle by cycle as well, as I'm also taking on the World Triathlon Championships in Almere, Holland (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride (climb!) and the full marathon 26.2 miles).
I saw first hand what Claire went through. The anguish, the torment, the physical deterioration. I wouldn't wish it on any person or any family. So I'll keep on running and raising what I can.
