Story

Football Marathon

We are putting our love of football to the ultimate test this summer by entering one of Tackle's Football Marathons - a unique fundraising event. Each year over 500 people take part in our regional 12-hour tournaments, taking part in Bristol 3rd June 2023.

Our Team is made up of the following people: Mike Gray, Adam Brettell, Nick Robinson, John Dodson, Lucas O'Driscoll, Ryan Moon, Dean Archer & Matt Gough

What is a Football Marathon?

This is a football tournament played over 12 hours! During the course of each Football Marathon, the average player can expect to run over 40km – about the same as the London Marathon.

Where does your money go?

Tackle uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The money donated will improve countless young lives across sub-Saharan Africa where ignorance and myths about HIV, and lack of access to information and services for sexual health result in over a million preventable deaths every year.
