Story
4 courses of off road cycling, following two knee replacements at the The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt. The first knee in November 2017, and the second in January 2019.
I have yet to hit my bike, but this challenge will allow me to get training and to raise money for the Appeal for a new veterans unit at the Orthopedic. I am expecting to cover approx 26 miles per day over 4 days, in Scotland, with the 7 Staines Challenge.
Start training today 6 months after 2nd knee replacement in 13 months. It’s going to be hard, but working for a great charity. 17/7/19 not been able to train this last week have a problem with right knee. I really hope to be back on bike next week. Only 8 weeks to go some serious training to do. 20/07/19 not good news today have deep tissue damage from incident last week. Have to start training back to square one. 06/08/19 Still recovering from a right knee problem only managing physio at present. When possible will start proper training. 28/08/19 have started tentative training in conjunction with my rehab. Hope to start ramping it up next week. Only three weeks to go, will do my very best for such a fantastic cause. To have a orthopaedic ward for veterans will be amazing. Well the time is nearly here I have managed a 35 mile ride now time to rest and repair. Thank you everyone who has donated I really can’t thank you enough. I will post next weekend when we arrive and get started. Thank you again it means so much and will help veterans in the future. 👍
