Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 17 April 2011 I am running the London Marathon in support of SPARKs (SPort Aiding medical Research for Kids)
The SPARKs mission is to help all babies be born healthy and stay healthy. They do this by funding high quality medical research into childhood diseases.
Approximately 1 in 30 babies in the UK are born with a health condition that will affect them and their families for the rest of their lives. For instance, every year:
-
Pre-eclampsia kills around 6 women and several hundred babies in the UK
-
Spina bifida affects around 150,000 children born around the world
-
Neuroblastoma is one of the leading cause of cancer deaths in 1 to 5 year-olds
-
Leukaemia is diagnosed in around 400 children in the UK
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Also, for every £1 you donate, my company Network Rail, will donate £1 to their charity (Cancer Research).
Thanks in advance
Mike
