Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
VSO have agreed to send me to Cambodia for another placement. I leave early Feb and will be there for 6 months 'to develop their strategic plan enabling them to implement the National Policy on Cambodia Youth Development. '
Among other things they expect me to:
'do strategic planning; develop a baseline and clear indicators which can be used to assess the performance of the strategic plan, including the required management information reports; support the development the operational plan; provide support and undertake a training needs assessment so that they can lead the process in the future' and doubtless a lot of other things as well!
This is very much the VSO idea of providing expertise (OK former colleagues - do not laugh), and establishing sustainability so that the ministry can continue to manage and develop the youth strategy into the future.
An exciting and interesting job in the most underdeveloped country in south east Asia, still recovering from the mayhem of the civil war.
VSO ask me to raise £1,000 (at least) towards their work, I don't get the money – it goes to help VSO general work.
I do hope you can contribute – I think this is one of the most worthwhile ways of supporting developing countries.
You could moreover take this as an opportunity to visit this fascinating country – remember the great city ruins of Ankor Wat are in Cambodia. I will be based in Phnom Penh, the capital, and once I am settled in will be happy to host you as best I can.

Donating is easy, and JustGiving will handle the tax reclaim for UK tax payers.
Many thanks
