Fundraising for SNAP
Story
Over the years I have raised £3,000 for SNAP by running fun runs and half marathons and giving talks to local WI groups.
I will be running with my friend Ralph Mullan in the Brentwood Half Marathon on the 21st Match and I would like to raise as much as possible to add to that amount.
SNAP helps families who have children and young people with special needs and disabilities. The children’s disabilities are wide ranging including autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.
SNAP provides much-needed services for parents and their children from The SNAP Centre in Brentwood, . Facilities include a fantastic multi-sensory room, an IT suite with four special needs computers and a colourful bright activity hall. It is such a fun place to be and children and young people love going to the centre to take part in therapies, play sessions and clubs.
Last year over 600 parents and carers regularly received hands-on support at The SNAP Centre such as counselling, parent courses and advice from the SNAP team of parent advisers. In total, the charity helps 1,500 families across through its information services, including a very busy telephone helpline.
