Story

My memories of that venerable building on Hope Street go back as far as the 60's when I attended to watch classic continental films in what was then known as Hope Hall. Then in the 70's when it became a full time theatre (complete with balcony all round - nothing new there then!).

In 1993 I 'gratuated' from punter to activist and subsequently Board Member when the Save the Everyman Committee morphed into New Everyman Ltd after Paddy and Dave aquired the building. In 2001 Everyman & Playhouse merged under Jo Beddoe to be followed in 2003 with Gemma and Deborah since when the LMTT has gone from strength to strength.

Having played a minor role (too old to slog up the hills!) in the recent 3 Peaks Challenge, I reckon age is no bar to dangling on the end of a rope in the hope of raising another £500 for this excellent cause - perhaps as a final curtain to my direct involvement with the Everyman!

All contributions will be gratefully received.

Mike.
