London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

As you know, 2022 was a bit of a difficult year, having lost my father-in-law to Bowel Cancer and my Father’s Alzheimer’s advancing substantially.

It feels almost fate, but after 14 years of trying, I was lucky enough to secure a place for this year’s London Marathon. Those of you that have known me for a while know that I like to do a charity fundraise every year, so this year it’s all fallen into place and I have a wonderful opportunity to use the event to raise money for two charities that mean a lot to me.

The training schedule is fairly punishing, so I’ve lined up a few sub-races to help:

1.    Dublin Parkrun (Day trip) - 4th Feb
2.    Tarpley 10 mile (Bury St Edmunds) – 26th Feb
3.    Cambridge Half Marathon – 5th Mar
4.    Wymondham (Norfolk) 20 miler – 25th Mar
5.    Santa Eulalia, Ibiza Half Marathon – 1st Apr (yes, I know…….)

Any moral support, by way of sponsorship, will help me get through this tough schedule, and the day itself.
