Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a veteran of the Armed Forces I am a keen supporter of the work that  The Royal British Legion does for serving men and women, veterans, and their families.

Having left the the British Army 5 years ago, I want to do something to support my military family by giving something back as well as completing a mental-physical challenge, something I have been missing since leaving.

In my opinion remembrance is a massive part of what the Legion does and stands for. For me, remembrance is more than just one day a year. As someone who has lost friends in conflict it has a very personal meaning. I will be running on Sunday 28th April 2019 in memory of my bothers and for the memory of all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

By running the London Marathon in support of The Royal British Legion I want to help raise awareness of the great work the Legion does.

Money raised during the Poppy Appeal helps The Royal British Legion support the Armed Forces community in lots of different ways, such as much needed breaks away from everyday life for serving and ex-serving personnel and their families and it also helps fund services like the Battle Back Centre - the first port of call for wounded, injured and sick service men and women as they start their Individual Recovery Program.

I feel as a veteran we all need support from time to time. Having experienced the difficulties of transitioning to civilian life it can be difficult to talk about the issues you face with people who understand your situation, we can all lack the courage to ask for help, but help is there. The Royal British Legion is uniquely placed to support all members of the forces community whatever their needs or circumstances.

I plan to be hosting fund-raising activities between now and April 2019 to raise money for this amazing organisation. I will keep you all posted on the details of these events and please come down and show your support.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Thank you very much for supporting this fantastic organisation. Your donation means so much to me and will go towards supporting serving men and women, veterans, and their families.
