Mike Barltrop Memorial Fundraising

Sadly on January 29th 2020 my Dad, Mike Barltrop passed away, he had battled with Parkinson’s for over 20 years.
Just a couple of weeks prior to this I met with a couple of childhood friends, Steve Beard and Richard Valentine who were a part of our junior rugby team growing up which Dad dedicated so much of his time to coaching for over a decade.
They suggested arranging a testimonial game to say thank you to him, our age group vs a Barbarian team led by my brothers Matt and Dave, this was planned as a surprise and to say a big thank you and no doubt something he would have really enjoyed.
In light of the rather sudden events in January 2020 this is now going ahead as a memorial instead of a testimonial and is going to be a great game and day with the aim to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.
With covid pusging this back a year, there will be a game at 3pm on Saturday 17th July at Wilmslow Rugby Club, the more the merrier to come down (covid restrictions will apply) watch, eat, drink and or play and for those a bit older or not in condition for contact rugby there will be a 20 minute golden shorts period at the end.
There will be Parkinson’s UK buckets for collections on the day but this is set up for those that want to donate online in advance or are cash short on the day or can’t make the event
