Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm tackling the Rock Solid Assault Course  on 19th September which includes a whole load of gruelling obstacles over a 5 km distance, running with Nicole Pistak and her crazy gang, also known as The Carpe Diem crew.

I'm fundraising so that Advantage Africa can help those affected by poverty, disability (including albinism) and HIV to improve their education, health and incomes. As many of you know, my wife Charlotte works for the charity and I also know the founders, Andrew and Jane Betts. I really appreciate their passion and professionalism and their focus on creating life opportunities for some of Africa's most vulnerable and excluded people.

To give you an example, Cherish is a young girl living with albinism who is vulnerable to skin cancer, discrimination and constant fear of abduction by witch doctors in search of albino body parts that are believed to make their owners wealthy. Advantage Africa's project in Uganda's Busoga region is helping more than 300 people with albinism to protect themselves from the skin cancer that kills 98% of them by the age of 40 and to debunk the dangerous myths surrounding their condition.
