Story
Our dear friend Anna was sadly diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (a rare form of Bile Duct cancer) in July 2021. Despite this devastating diagnosis, Anna and her family dealt with the situation privately, with great courage and dignity. Unfortunately, Anna's brave battle was very short as she passed away in September 2021.
Anna was a beautiful, intelligent young woman, whose love for her family was beyond compare. A devoted wife, a strong proud mother and a loyal and trusted friend. She was a kind and thoughtful soul who would put the needs of others before her own.
When Anna received her diagnosis she knew that her chances of survival were slim and so her thoughts were immediately focused on making sure her family would be okay after she had gone. She also wanted to make more people aware of this cruel disease in the hope that perhaps with more awareness came earlier diagnosis and ultimately better chances of survival.
With this in mind, as a tribute to Anna and her brave family, collectively we have decided to raise awareness and money towards the only charity specifically set up for Cholangiocarcinoma.
We will be walking the Ullswater Way on July 10th 2022. This is a twenty mile plus circular walk around Lake Ullswater in the beautiful Lake District. Family, friends and work colleagues of Anna's will set off in the early morning to walk the full route in one day. The support and positive comments about this event have been tremendous so far, but we would like to convert that positivity into much need cash for the charity.
The Alan Moore Memorial Fund (AMMF) is a little known charity but hopefully with your help we can raise its profile and also much needed funds.
