Story

Hey everyone,

I am running the Great Scottish Run on October 1st alongside one of my best friends Laura and her mum Karen. We are raising funds for charities that are close to all of ours hearts! 10k doesn't seem a lot to some but I definitely have never been much of a runner so training has commenced in the lead up to this race and hopefully it's something we not only enjoy but can also have your support in trying to raise money for these amazing charities.

The Marie Curie charity is especially close to my heart! My Fiance and his family tragically lost their mum Janice just over 3 years ago to cancer after a very long but most definitely the bravest battle I have ever seen against the disease. Janice was my mum away from home for 8 years and was easily one of the best and strongest people I have ever met. She was and is such a special soul and is missed every single day! The Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow played a massive part in helping Janice through her treatment and illness over more than 10 years. She kept a great personality during her time with the illness and she spoke about how great the Hospice was with her and the support and care they gave her, I think they played a large part in how Janice fought this illness and it gave her somewhere to rest to build up her strength again when she needed it most. The staff and nurses were fantastic and so caring, not just with Janice but with any family who visited.

My Great Scottish run is for Janice Callaghan and for my Local Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow! I have a target of £250, any donation big or small is really really appreciated!!

The Marie Curie hospices have nurses working day and night providing hands on care and vital emotional support. They have trainers and volunteers available if patients need someone to talk to or need advice. All of their research investment aims to improve end of life care for people with terminal illness, their carers and families.

Thank you so so much for visiting my page and thank you in advance for any donations, It means so much!
