During domestic violence awareness month we are raising money for WINGS. Our doctors, patients, and friends have been tremendous supporters of WINGS over the years raising almost over $7500 in 2022. Please consider donating again in 2023.
Domestic Violence occurs in every community including ours.
- Abuse can take many forms including physical, economic, emotional, verbal, sexual and stalking or cyberstalking.
- 1 in 3 women has experienced domestic violence in the U.S.
- 20% of women in the US have been raped.
- About 240,000 pregnant women are battered each year by their partner.
- Women ages 18-24 are most commonly abused by an intimate partner.
- 1-15 children are exposed to domestic violence each year, 90% of these children witness the violence.
