Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
A group of explorers in the Midlands are planning to walk a marathon as part of Wildnight out. We will be walking from Kings Norton in South Birmingham along the canals until we reach Stratford upon Avon. Starting early on Saturday morning and arriving in time for a celebratory drink. The 26 mile journey will involve walking the entire length of the Stratford Upon Avon Canal, from Birmingham's suburbia through picturesque villages to Shakespeare's country. Since the train line passes the canal at various points some members of the group will do a shorter distance, potentially ending the journey in the likes of Lapworth or Henley in Arden. We suggest that participants donate £20 or whatever they can afford and we invite you to support us in raising even more for charity.
Wild Night Out has been set up by Explorers Connect to raise money for disadvantaged children. It’s a sad fact that the proportion of children in the UK regularly playing in wild places has fallen from over half to under 1 in 10. Wild Night Out was created to change that. One day every year we are being encouraged to get outdoors to raise money for disadvantaged kids to enjoy it too. Explorers Connect has partnered with the Youth Adventure Trust; a charity which uses outdoor adventure to help vulnerable and disadvantaged young people develop the hope, skills and confidence to face the challenges in their daily lives. On 16th July 2016 we will start the Wild Night Out movement. So let’s have some fun adventures ourselves, inspire our friends to get involved and pay-it-forward to help disadvantaged kids do the same. Read more about it here http://wildnightout.org/
