Story
As many friends and family will already be aware, on the eighth of August, Dad passed away in Spain while fundraising for a charity organisation who seek to help the terminally ill in their final days. The organisation (Southern Area Hospice; https://www.southernareahospiceservices.org/) specialises in providing palliative care to those suffering from a range of diseases.
Anyone who knew him, will remember Dad as a man who was caring and selfless. Dad was hiking across Spain with a group of old and new friends in order to raise funds for this amazing service. In his 4 days of walking, they had raised over $50,000. In remembrance of Dad, we, his family and friends, wanted to continue to raise money for a cause that he was passionate about. Southern Area Hospice requires as much as $10,000,000AU every year to provide the care that they do. We've elected to try and raise as much as we can to make this a little easier for them.
So many people have reached out and offered our family flowers and support in this hard time, but instead we ask that you put that effort and that money towards helping this cause. Thank you to everyone who continues to help us.
https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mickoconnorWe are setting up this Just Giving Page in memory of our beloved husband & father who sadly passed away while walking the Camino with friends,
These special friends undertake this walk annually in an effort to raise much needed funds for the Southern Area Hospice.
