Independent Age is the national charity focused on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. Our helpline and advisers offer free, practical support to older people and with our grants programme, we support organisations working with older people across the UK.

Story

I like running.....and I like the parks in London, so my friend Dawn asked me to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon with her and I thought it sounded fun. I'm regretting it a bit now though as since running the London marathon (see photo left of me celebrating in true northern style), I've turned into a lazy blob so I think it's going to be a bit tough.

I was attracted to raise money for Independant Age because it cares about older people who often get forgotten in todays society. My friend is 92 and is an inspiration, still having fun with life. This can only be achieved with the right help and support, often from charity funding.

SO, Thank you once again for being so generous and sponsoring me as I do appreciate I'm frequently asking friends and family for their dosh!
