Anyone that knows me will know that i have to busy myself on the anniversary of the date my gorgeous husband lost his fierce 6 month battle with leukaemia and if I can raise some very much needed funds for such an important charity, along the way, then I feel i am doing something relatively positive.  

Well as that date looms, August 1st, I have been trying to think of something that will really challenge me but not take me away from our beautiful 4 year old daughter Olivia for too long.....hence why I've decided to cycle the 140 miles from the West Coast of England to the East Coast in 1 day.  Also when I looked up on a map of the starting point, Whitehaven, I saw it was just north of a town called Sandwith which is Karl's surname so I saw that as a sign from him that I must do the challenge!!! 

Believe me, this will definitely be a huge challenge as even though 2 years ago I cycled from John O'Groats to Lands End, I haven't really been on my bike since so really must step up my training! 

My husband Karl was my best friend and not a moment passes in a day without me thinking of him or talking to him, asking how he would handle certain situations and for help with our little girl, Olivia. I miss him terribly and I am reminded each day that we must never let opportunities pass us by and we must make the most of our time 'here', never take anything for granted.

I owe it to Karl to honour his memory and make him proud and I know he'd be impressed to think that he has inspired others to challenge themselves to hopefully make a difference to other people's lives.
