Apols. but I am once again doing the Race for Life at Saltwell Park on the 7 June. This year my son, Nicholas, is joining me - mainly because he wants to beat me! We shall see - those who know him know he's a sprinter - but I remember the story of the tortoise and the hair and I'm definitely more like a tortoise!

Anyway we are both doing it for at least two lovely people who are always close to our hearts and in our minds; my mum, Carole, who lost her fight against bowel cancer 18 mths ago and for Joanne, a wonderful friend, mother and wife, who sadly lost her life to cancer shortly after. They were two of the most wonderful and kind hearted people I know. They would do anything to help you and never said a bad word about anyone.

Please please, if you can spare anything, even just a £1, in these difficult times, we would be extremely grateful. It will go towards helping stopping this awful disease and saving other people's lives.
