Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  Our challenge will take place in November 2022 but we want to raise as much money as possible before, during and after our trip.  We are self funding our trip so none of the money you donate will go towards funding our challenge, instead ALL donations will go direct to Overgate.

We both turned 50 in 2021 at the end of a pandemic which made us both realise how lucky we are to reach this milestone as so many others never get that opportunity.  As well as setting ourselves this epic challenge we wanted to raise money for Overgate hospice who are invaluable in our community and desperately need our funding in order to continue offering the care they do.  So rather than buying us a pint or a gift for our birthday please donate to this very worthy cause.

The INCA TRAIL TREK TO MACHU PICCHU in PERU is one of the top ten trekking trails in the world!!

We spend our first day acclimatising at an altitude of 3,300m, and take an 8km trek around the famous Inca sites surrounding Cusco.

Then the hard work begins and we’re off as a team to conquer the one and only Inca Trail to Machu Picchu – the world’s most important archaeological find and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World! 

This classic Inca Trail encompasses 3 high mountain passes which includes 3 nights camping along the trail over a distance of approx. 43km – our second day of trekking will be our most challenging day as we climb from 3,000m to 4,200m altitude to ‘Dead Woman’s Pass’.

The trek will undoubtedly be tough and will certainly test us, but upon witnessing the sight of Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, mirrored with breath-taking views across the Andes, our efforts will be more than worthwhile.

It will be tough but this is nothing compared to what some people have endure on a daily basis, so please support us as generously as you can and help raise the much needed funds for Overgate.

In addition to the Inca Trail we completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge as part of our training - surely this deserves a 50% donation increase?
