Event: One Million Steps 2022, from 1 July 2022 to 31 October 2022
This summer, take one million steps over three months thats about 10,000 steps a day. Steps to get fit. Steps to lose weight. Steps for your own body, and steps to raise funds that will change the lives of everybody affected by diabetes.

Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK. I was diagnosed with type 2 in January 2021. I've got to say, I was terrified but my nurse was amazing. By March 2021 with the help of medication (temporarily) diet and exercise I had put myself into remission as I didn't want to rely on tablets for the rest of my life. Keeping up a healthy lifestyle is an important part of keeping myself in remission. I'm doing this challenge to keep myself accountable and also we all sometimes need that little extra help to keep it up and keep going. Also raising extra awareness and letting people know a type 2 diagnosis doesn’t mean a lifelong diagnosis. We can get into remission and not need that medication forever.
