Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. 

I received a fairly 'different' gift from my brother at Christmas in 2011, which was a tandem skydive.  I decided I'd make even more of this by taking the opportunity to raise money for 'Mind', a mental health charity that is close to my heart.

Mental illness is often overlooked as being an 'illness' since it's not physical.  Knowing a number of people who have suffered in some shape or form, I want to help increase awareness and show support through my fundraising activity.  If you wish to learn more, please visit the 'Mind' website at: http://www.mind.org.uk/

As many of you are aware after several cancelations due to the poor weather on previous scheduled attempts, on 13th July 2013 I finally did my tandem skydive!  It was a glorious summer's day at Netheravon airfield in Wiltshire, with my parents there to support me. 

At around 10 o'clock, I was first to board the aircraft and last to dive from 13,000 ft!! :s After a refreshing freefall of about 15 seconds (and then minus one contact lense!) the parachute opened for the remaining decent lasting a few more minutes with fabulous views across the Wiltshire countryside.  The instructor even handed me the straps so I could steer the chute on the way down!  We had a very smooth landing indeed.  So finally I could then fix my hair, relax and enjoy our picnic!  (Thanks Mum x) :p 

With thanks to my dear brother for this amazing experience, my parents' support and efforts the day of my dive, and the support from all my other relatives and friends who have helped me raise monies so far.  THANK YOU.  It means so much.
