My young sister tragically died 3 years ago from breast cancer and shortly after her death I found myself outside a Maggie's Centre. I stood at the top of the pathway for a time I simply cannot recall but when I finally went through the door, I was greeted with open arms and the warmest reassuring welcome. This was the beginning of my journey and I received a great deal of support from Maggie's Centre that i will be forever grateful. It is a marvelous and unique place of support, peace and sanctuary.

To express my utter gratitude and support for the charity, and a way to say 'THANK YOU,' i am embarking on an 8k Nuclear Fallout Assault course in November 2014.

Trust me, this is not for the faint hearted and requires a great deal of training. It is a beast!!! The wetter, colder and muddier race that you cannot take for granted!!! HYPOTHERMIA is not uncommon along with cuts, bruises, scrapes and sores.. to name but a few..

The distance is one thing, but it encompasses over 60+ man-made obstacles all on hilly, undulating farmland & heavy Essex clay. It is going to push my limits both personally and mentally and will be an exhilarating but very tough challenge indeed.
