Story
To watch as my Mother, Jeannette, succumbed to the cruel disease of Alzheimer’s was absolutely devastating. She gradually became a shell of the person she once was and then after enduring 8 years of this terrible illness she passed away.
This was soon to be followed by another diagnosis, this time for my Father, Zigi. My heart breaks knowing what lies ahead for him.
People think of it as just “old people forgetting things” but the day to day reality of living with Alzheimer's cannot be underestimated. By the end of their lives full time care is required, as their minds and bodies simply fall apart.
Marcus and I decided to take part in the Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s Society to raise much needed funds for research into this destructive disease.
Thank you for any support you are able to give us.
