Story
I am excited to share with you that I will be running my first London Marathon in April 2023!
This is a huge challenge and I must admit, although excited, I’m feeling pretty nervous too as I know there’s a huge amount of dedicated training that I need to do. I am motivated and determined to give this my absolute best as it’s a privilege to have been offered a place to run in one of the world’s most iconic running events, with amazing people raising money for great causes.
Many of you know for the last four or five years I have been a keen runner. I have entered the London Marathon ballot many times and each year I have been unsuccessful in securing a place. This year, I particularly want to run as a friend has a ballot place and I very much want to run with her. The solution was to find a charity place to finally be able to fulfil this wish on my bucket list and I am delighted to be raising funds for The Miscarriage Association.
A miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy during the first 23 weeks and comes in many forms – early, late, recurrent and the rarer ectopic and molar pregnancies; all are devastating for the parents and family involved.
It is estimated that 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage so even if you have not experienced miscarriage yourself, you can be certain you know people who have.
I am running for all those who have suffered a miscarriage, and the loss and bereavement they feel, whilst raising money for and awareness of an amazing charity who provide information and support to anyone affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy.
Thank you for taking the time to read my JustGiving fundraising page, any donations, large or small will be gratefully received. I am truly grateful for your kind support, thank you.
