Story
In October 2012 my life was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension. This is a very rare condition and the only cure is a lung transplant. In December 2017 I was placed on the active transplant list and I am currently waiting for a double lung transplant. Pulmonary Hypertension has completely changed my life, the biggest change being having to retire from my teaching job of 20 years.
The Pulmonary Hypertension Association is the only UK based charity that deals specifically with supporting people with PH and raising awareness. With so few people in Northern Ireland diagnosed with this condition, their website and newsletter have been invaluable to me.
I have decided to donate approximately 10 inches of my hair to The Little Princess Trust and whatever funds I raise will be donated to The Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
Thanks to everyone for your kind donations.
