I have been a regular participant in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon for the past nine years.So this being my 10th year is special to me.So I am trying to get 10 people to walk with me. Ciara Downey, Naomi McNally and Avril Downey have already signed up. Over this time, I have usually taken part with family or with friends – but occasionally by myself. “It’s amazing how you always meet up with someone who is doing it at your particular pace,” she says, “so the craic and fun on the way round the10k is always fantastic”.

During recent years, I have had great encouragement from my family and close friends – and even customers in her own work-place. I hope that everyone will continue to support me this year in raising vital funds for Southern Area Hospice Services. ‘It’s really an incredible feeling crossing the finishing-line every year and then receiving your medal, knowing that you have raised money for such a worthy cause,” she says. “Believe me,if I can do it anyone can , and I would urge all you ladies out there to get involved right now and have a great day out this June while helping your local hospice”.
