Story
In memory of our beautiful daughter Amy, and to try and raise awareness and funds for the bereavement charity 2Wish, we have signed up to do the Swansea Half Marathon on 12th June.
On 7th May last year we unexpectedly & devastatingly lost Amy. Time moves so quickly and yet it only seems like yesterday that our worlds were shattered. We suffer daily with her loss and home just isn't the same without her. She was kind, she was genuine and she had the most beautiful soul. Those of you that had the privilege of knowing her were the lucky ones.
Our lives have changed in every way. As a family we have changed in every way. We are broken and often numb with sadness.
We have been lucky to not only have the help & support of all our friends and family, but also this amazing charity.
2wish provides immediate bereavement support for families, individuals and professionals who have suddenly and traumatically lost a child or young adult aged 25 years and under. When a family loses a child or young adult the effects are devastating for all who knew and loved them. It is important that support is available if and when required. It is important families know that they are not alone and that the feelings they are experiencing are often normal.
2Wish have been with us from the beginning, and are available to us (and families who are also living the same nightmare) forever more. If we can help in the smallest of ways to say thank you, then we'll do what we can.
So dig deep and donate whatever you can please!
2Wish have been a lifeline.
I'm sure Amy will be laughing her socks off at the thought of me attempting to "run", but this is for you baby girl. You'll be at the finish line waiting for us, because I am going to do this for you!!
