In memory of Ingrid Kennealy
We provide specialist palliative care to comfort patients and their families

Story

It's that time of the year and here we go - my 5th walk, Ellie's 3rd and Wendy's 6th in memory of a fabulous and much missed mum/nana/sister.

This year is 5 years since Mum died after a 3 year battle with cancer.  In so many ways its seems like yesterday and yet I look back and in particular at her grandchildren Harry and Ellie and realise how much she has missed. BUT we were blessed to have her in our lives as long as we did.

Mum was a patient at Nightingale House firstly for palliative care and then in her final days as she needed care that couldn't be provided at home. Without the hospice her quality of life would undoubtedly have been worse.

Over the past 5 years 'Team Ingrid' (in various guises with various members!) has raised over £6000 which is totally down to you all who sponsor us and your enormous generosity.  In recent weeks I have been reminded of the enormous need of hospice care and although our need is finished there are plenty of families who need the support of these amazing places.  Everyone has their own favourite charities and we appreciate it is difficult to sponsor everyone but whatever you can give is gratefully received by Nightingale House.  I would hate for Nightingale House to scale back it's work and services because of lack of money and for a patient and their family to not have this wonderful place to use in their hour of need.

So whether we raise £10 or £100 (or more!) we will walk on 28th June in memory of mum/nana/sister - the glue that held us all together-and for all those existing patients and future users of the Hospice.

Thank you for taking the time to read our page.

Lots of love

Michelle, Ellie and Wendy xxxx
