Story
We are doing this in memory of my Uncle Andy Wild who was recently taken away from us by this life debilitating disease, Andy was diagnosed on April 19th 2019 with the most aggressive form of MND, the disease took control a lot quicker than anyone expected and he passed away on April 22nd 2020 in the care of Douglas Macmillan, this family was then struck with another catastrophic loss 4 days later when my cousin, Andy's Son Lee passed away from a brain tumour that was of the most aggressive type and only diagnosed in January 2020, Lee was 36 he left 3 young children and a wife behind to add to the devastation, because of the Covid-19 epidemic none of the family can comfort each other and only a few can attend the funerals.
Andy was known for his caring side and ability to make people laugh, he worked with children in Care and adults in need also he volunteered at many things including Scouts and offering his skills to many other causes for example the local hospital annual theatre show, of which he appeared in many times.
During his working life Andy was a great fund raiser for many different charities and he also completed this 90 mile walk a few years ago with two of his friends over a 5 day period camping along the way.
So we want to do this in memory of Andy for a Charity that helped him and his family through this last horrendous year, so hopefully they can continue to help and support other families in the same way for many years to come..
