The South Downs Way

Benji aged 7 (and mum :) are going to walk the South Downs Way this Summer to raise money for 4 amazing charities!

It’s a really big challenge because the South Downs Way is 160km all the way from Winchester to Eastbourne and covers most of the highest points in the South Downs! It’s a long way for a 7-year-old, (and I suspect even longer for a mum recovering from long covid) so we’re really hoping that we’ll be able to do it! We’re going to complete it over the next four weeks or so, taking rest days in between. 

We live in the middle of the South Down’s, where Benji loves this landscape, and it was his idea to do this walk :) 

Sussex Wildlife Trust

As we’re walking through so much of the beautiful Sussex countryside on this walk, we wanted to donate some of the money to our local Wildlife Trust. Benji’s enjoyed forest schools with them since he was a toddler, and they make such a massive difference to the local wildlife and landscapes around us. 

Sussex Wildlife Trust is a conservation charity for everyone who cares about nature in Sussex. We focus on protecting the wonderfully rich natural life that is found across our towns, countryside and coast.By working alongside local people we create opportunities for us all to connect with nature, and for nature to thrive in even the most unlikely places. Together we can make sure that future generations living in Sussex will be able to enjoy the sense of wonder and well-being that nature offers.Together we can make Sussex life richer.

I know that it’s not the easiest time money-wise for so many people now. We’ve been through job loss this year so completely understand if you’re not able to help. But any donations will go straight to the projects on the ground, and each is doing such important work, that any contributions you’re able to make will be so appreciated.
