Earlier this year Lana was designed with autism, so when she found out about the super 7 challenge she was eager to get involved to help raise funds and awareness for people on the spectrum.
Autism has aways been viewed in a negative light with many misconceptions. Lana would like to highlight some of the positive aspects of autism and try to gain some patience for people on the spectrum.
Here are 7 positive little traits many people on the spectrum might have.
Autistic people are not tied to social expectations, what you see is what you get. They are not afraid to be themselves.
They open new doors for neuro typical people. From there sensory differences, to the way they perceive the world, there creative thinking and there great attention to detail.
Autistic people are smart. Many have above average intelligence, even none and pre verbal. Competence should never be presumed.
Many people on the spectrum love routines and execute them with great success, they are organised and great time keepers, making them great employees.
Autistic people are straight talking, direct and honest. Rarely judge others making them great friends.
Neuro diverse people are extremely passionate about subjects that interest them, making the an expert in such subjects.
They have a fantastic memory and are amazing at recalling facts.
When Lana received her diagnosis earlier this year she was more prepared than any of us and extremely positive. Telling us that she was proud and autism is in fact her super power.
We are all immensely proud of Lana and she is most definitely our little superhero.
So for her super 7 challenge Lana has decided to read 7 superhero books by her favourite author, over 7 days from 29th March-4th April in 7 different superhero costumes. Each evening she will post a little book review and update you all on her challenge.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting
Love
