Story
Thanks to all of you who sponsored me last year and helped raise £235 for the SSPCA.
This year I am running for The Small Animal Hospital Campaign (University of Glasgow). The Small Animal Hospital opened in September 2009 and fundraising is needed to support the completion and ongoing work of the hospital and to maintain the Vet School's role as leader in veterinary medicine. Our family cat 'Tilly' became unwell last November and spent 6 weeks of vet’s visits for X-Rays, blood test etc but nothing was showing up. Eventually there was nothing left to test and our local vet suggested that we take Tilly to the Small Animal Hospital in Glasgow where they would be able to carry out an MRI scan. What an amazing place! I couldn't get over how clean it was (much cleaner than any human hospital I've been to). While Tilly was still being scanned the Professor showed us what they had found and it was a large tumour at the back of her head. The good news was that it was operable. Tilly was operated on Christmas Eve and we were able to collect her a week later. Tilly returned home with a new punk look of a shaved head and 13 temporary metal clips. If she had not had the operation she would not have made the New Year. Tilly is still doing really well and returned to her playful ways within a couple of weeks of getting back home. By supporting The Small Animal Hospital Campaign you will be helping this fantastic hospital to continue expanding and be able to save many more sick animals every day.
